SEMO EMS NETWORK MINUTES

MEMBERS PRESENT:

 

Mary Chappius, Marty Fowler, Shane Lockard, Jeff Cole, David Cooper, Kendall Shrum, Sharon Dykes, Larry Chasteen, Brad Golden, Todd Ransom, Allan Benson, Les Crump, Caroline Gerecke, Randy Davis, David Tetrault, Tom Banks, Terri Ellsworth.

  

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

 

A motion was made to accept the minutes as written. Minutes approved.

 

FINANCIAL REPORT:

 

Shane gave the financial report with a net balance of $7121.62 See the enclosed attachment for additional information.

 

Shane added the need to include other Hospitals in the network for the coming year. Kendall will draft a cover letter to send to the Hospital’s.

 

OLD BUSINESS:

 

Terry Ellsworth gave a brief update on the AED grant. $236,000.00 was awarded for AED’s. Terri will contact us when the bids are awarded.  Training will be provided for AED use. The BEMS will try to get training provided free thereby providing more monies available to purchase additional AED’s. He will update us as more information becomes available.

         

NEW BUSINESS:

 

Shane-  the S/E Regional Advisory Committee is in the process of drafting trauma transport protocols and a diversion policy to be utilized for the rural S/E area.  Next scheduled meeting date is Dec.11, 2002 10am. St. Francis Medical Center Healing Arts building. All are welcomed to attend.

 

MEETING DATES SCHEDULED FOR 2003:

     February 28 10:00am Perry County Ambulance Service.

April 25 10:00am North Scott Co. Ambulance District-Chaffee.

June 27 10:00am St. Francis Co. Ambulance District.

September 26 10:00am Jackson Fire Department.

December 5 10:00am Arch Air Medical Cape location.

 

ELECTION OF NEW OFFICERS:

Chairman/President- Kendall Schrum

Vice President-Dave Tetrault

Secretary-Mary Chappius

Treasurer-Shane Lockard

Board Members-Jeff Cole, Larry Chasteen, Randy Everett, and David Cooper.

 

 EDUCATION:  

Sharon Dykes reported that Three Rivers Community College would be increasing the number of ACLS and PAL’s courses for 2003.  Additionally there will be an EMS instructor course added for the coming year.  For additional information see enclosed attachments.    

 

Brad Golden reported they would be doing training with the new HAZMAT response trailer for the coming year.      

 

Thanks to Arch Air Medical for hosting December’s meeting.
