APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
A correction to the date the minutes were written
was made. A motion was made to accept the minutes after the appropriate
correction is made.
FINANCIAL REPORT
:
Shane
gave the financial report with a total balance of $4247.95
WE discussed
the need to increase the annual dues. A motion was
made to keep the dues the same.
EDUCATION:
CCEMT-P
update: The class has finished with 11 students would have liked a total of 20.
IHM was paid $7048.77 for the class. The total cost for the class was $14008.71
this remained within the budgeted amount. Discussed for future classes we
consider teaching without IHM’s assistance. It was recommended that the classes
be held every other year and that a survey of the EMS agencies be conducted
prior to the class.
CCPA will be sponsoring an EMT-P core content
review class 1/12/05-
2/18/05 at Cape
Co. Ambulance. Cost is $100 with lunch provided.
CE Solutions – CEU’s, the state recognizes 100% of
the CEU’s but
National Registry will only
allow 50% allotted CEU’s.
LEGISLATIVE:
The legislative committee will be debating Medicare
reform starting
in 1/05.
EMT-I has again become an issue. SAC will not
support this issue.
Dave Tetrault will contact Joanne Emerson
and ask her to attend the
next SEMO EMS Managers
meeting to discuss EMS issues.

BUSINESS:
Brad
Golden introduced Greg Hecht who has been appointed EMS training officer for
Jackson Fire Department.
Tami Kiefer introduced Derek Carton who has been appointed EMS
training coordinator for Cape Co. Private
Ambulance.
Brad Golden advised the network to go to
http://fema.gov
and
http://nfa.gov
for available
grants that will be offered for 2005 for private and
ambulance districts. Additionally, you may access http://mufrti.org
website for grant announcements.
We discussed the need for EMS to have a
separate federal office.
This will be
addressed at our next meeting with Joanne Emerson.
St Francis Co. has been selected for a
pilot program for the BEMS’s
state
data entry system.
Randy recommended that all services go to
http://naemse.org and read the
EMS scope of
practice model.
WMD/BIO-TERRORISM:
St. Francis Co. Ambulance District will be hosting a WMD/BIO
chemical class 12/16/04 and 12/17 from
8a-12p and 12/18 8a-4p. This
is offered
free through the homeland security grant.
WMD- PPE will be distributed according to
regions. Brad advised
everyone to be
aware of expiration dates on this equipment. This
needs to be checked periodically and batteries etc. will need to
be
replaced as outdated. These items
may need to be budgeted due to
the
expense.
