SEMO EMS NETWORK MINUTES

JUNE 28,2002

MEMBERS PRESENT :

Mary Chappius, Todd Ransom, Shane Lockard, Kendall Shrum, Margie Sammons, Brad Golden.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

A motion was made to accept the minutes as written. Minutes approved.

FINANCIAL REPORT :

Shane gave the financial report with a net balance of $7016.05. See the enclosed attachment for additional information.

Shane informed the Network West Wayne Co. is now a new ambulance district.

OLD BUSINESS:

There is no old business to report.

NEW BUSINESS:

Brad gave a brief report from SEMA in regards to federal grant monies available for Bio-Terrorism training. This money has not been allotted to individual services but this training is available through the local fire departments.

Kendall reported he has sent a letter of intent for the network. For a multi-million dollar federal grant to be utilized for the purchase of 96 AED's. This grant requires the recipients to be part of a regional coalition and can only be used in rural counties. This would exclude Jefferson Co. If we receive this funding, the BEMS will then disburse the funds. We are awaiting for more information from the BEMS.

EDUCATION :

Brad informed the group he had applied for a $158,000 grant to purchase a training android to be utilized as a regional training tool. This trainer has the ability to be pale, diaphoretic, etc. It's capabilities are many.

There will be a Drug Rep. present to discuss the new bronchial dialator Xopenex.

Brad will give a brief update on HAZMAT/BIO-Terrorism/Weapons of Mass Destruction etc. and any available training in the area.
