MEMBERS PRESENT:

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
A motion was made to accept the minutes as written. Minutes approved.
FINANCIAL REPORT :
The Treasurer was not present to give a financial report.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
SEMO Regional EMS Committee: Jeff Cole reported the SEMO Regional EMS Committee has the trauma transport protocols final draft completed and are awaiting approval at the July 9,2003 meeting. The meeting will be held at St. Francis Medical Center. Anyone interested is welcome to attend. Jeff added that these are guidelines and they are not to override local protocols.
No one was present to report on the EMS Education Task Force.
OLD BUSINESS:
BEMS AED grant: Awaiting disbursement. The AED’s will be disbursed through the local health departments. Contact your health department administrator to discuss your needs.
OLD BUSINESS CONTINUED:
Board Training: Terri Ellsworth continues to seek new or updated training video’s for board members possible using power point.
Update on HB 303 - HB 303 was voted down in the Senate. This bill was proposed by Abbott Ambulance and would have established a Critical Care Transport Team for all critical transports.
HB 308 and 412 - No report available.
The proposals for 12 hour shifts state wide did not get out of the committee. This was presented by the St. Louis Fire Department.
NEW BUSINESS
HIPPA -A discussion was held in regards to patients receiving a copy of the notice of Privacy Practice along with a copy of the refusal form and the possibility of additional liability if the Patient does not receive a copy. See attachments of South Scott’s refusal and HIPPA forms.
St. Francis Hospital in Cape will become a designated level II trauma center in September.
EDUCATION :
CCEMT-P course - Jeff Cole reported he contacted Bob Paige in reference to teaching the course. He stated we are out of IHM’s zone. He will be preparing a proposal for the network.
Thanks to St. Francis Co. Ambulance District for hosting the June meeting.
