1)  Open Windows Mail.
Windows Live Mail is often included with Windows 7. Click on the round start button in the lower left corner of the screen. Then click on "All Programs." Then click on the "Windows Live" folder. Then click on "Windows Live Mail"

(If a "Setup Wizard" starts, skip to step 4)

2)  Find the mail accounts.
Click on:
"Tools" then "Accounts"
(Remove any unwanted accounts including the Microsoft Communities account by clicking on them and selecting "Remove".)

3)  Start a "Wizard" to Add a Show-Me Net account.
Click on:
"Add" then
"E-mail Account"

4)  Fill in the blanks:

E-mail Address Enter your e-mail address here
Password Enter your password here
Display Name Enter your real name here

Put check marks in boxes before:
"Remember password" and "Manually configure server settings for e-mail account."
and click on "Next" button.

On the next page, enter only the following information (leave all other settings as is):

Incoming server showme.net
Outgoing server showme.net

Then click on the "Finish" button.

Now click on the "Properties" button on the right side.
Click on the "Advanced" tab at the top.
Uncheck "Leave a copy of messages on server."
Click "OK" and "Close"

5)  Test your e-mail.
Send an e-mail from your computer to yourself.  This tests both the sending and receiving abilities of Windows Live Mail.  To check for new mail, click on "Sync" in the toolbar at the top. If you receive the message, your setup is correct.  Good job!
